Leaving Tana with an early flight for Tulear. Welcome by your guide on arrival and drive to Ranohira. Opportunity to visit the Antsokay Arboretum for an overview of the southern vegetation: discovering the Baobab, the Aloe, the Euphorbiaceae. Along the way, admire the typical landscapes of the South, along with Mahafaly ethnic tombs, rock masses, but also sapphire miners villages. Overnight at the hotel.
Exploring Isalo National Park early in the day. Discovering the northern part of the rocky massif, house of several rare birds species, butterflies and lizards … An aboundant and luxuriant biodiversity make up its plant life: pachypodiums, aloes and euphorbias. Programme: walking to the waterfalls through deep gorges until the blue pool and the black pool. Picnic lunch. In the afternoon, hiking and discovering the Bara and Sakalava tombs. After a few hours walk we arrive at the natural swimming pool’s lush oasis. Relaxing a little and back to the hotel.
Crossing uneven slopes which requires a good fitness. But you will enjoy breathtaking views and contrasting panoramas: the rice fields, the rocky massifs and a Serengeti savanna-like vegetation. Walking through rice fields, forests, Bara royal village and cliffside tombs. Seeing the many small waterfalls and the abounding plants invite you to relaxation. Possible encounter with the makis, better known as the ring-tailed lemurs.
After breakfast, hitting back the road to Tulear. Lunch and city tour in the afternoon. Overnight at hotel.
Transfer to the airport and flight back to the capital.
