A completely new journey! We will make you enter into another world where you will not come back quite the same. A country where only a 4 × 4 can transport you. Tracks which are often challenging always lead to a beautiful location. Unforgettable is the most appropriate word for this journey.
Early morning, airport transfer to fly to Morondava. Your guide will welcome and install you at your hotel. Free end of morning. In the afternoon, visit to the tiny fishing village of Betania and a ride to the famous Baobabs Avenue to admire a splendid sunset.
Early departure to reach Belo sur Mer. Discovering a beautiful landscape with high drought-resistant scrawny vegetation. Crossing the saltworks and the first ford of Ankambatomena. Arrival at “Belo sur mer”, a nice Vezo fishermen village where you can observe one of the busiest shipyards on the West coast of Madagascar.
Free morning at Belo on Sea. Then back on the road to enter the Sakalava lands. The western arid landscapes are spread across into dry forests. Arrival by mid-afternoon at Manja, former capital of a small kingdom where a particular hairstyle called “Dokodoko” distinguishes women. Installation in bush cottage or outdoor camping.
Early departure. After crossing a long laterite track, drawn in line in the middle of a beautiful Baobab savanna, you come to the edge of Mangoky river for a ferry crossing. Driving on to Morombe by an ancient road, to reach Andavaloaka and its beautiful beach by late afternoon.
A half-day of very pleasant track to reach Salary. Along a sandy track, we cross splendid dunes, forests and beautiful fishing villages, with the blue of the sea on the horizon. Arrival at Salary where you can enjoy the unreal whiteness of a sandy beach as well as the turquoise lagoon.
After breakfast, heading to Tulear through Ifaty. Seen from afar, the coral reef is huge and sand dunes line the road. Lunch at Ifaty. After a short break, resuming the journey to Tulear.
Boat transfer to the village of Anakao, bounded by a beautiful turquoise lagoon. Farniente before the track day awaiting you next.
Breakfast and heading to Itampolo. The trail is dotted with baobab trees and a picturesque funerary art. Of course it is hot, the track is sometimes hard but the coastline of the Mozambique Channel is of an outstanding beauty.
The track is tough and strenuous but the scenery is amazing! This road crosses great outdoors where grow aloe, euphorbia and many spiniferous. It passes through small fishing villages, crosses the huge sisal plantations in Cape Sainte Marie and leads to the doors of Andohahela Park.
Final stretch through the extraordinary landscape of the island’s south. End of the Great South dry vegetation and entering a whole other world: Fort Dauphin and its oceanic climate. Exploring the town by night.
